Farming 103: Troop Setup
This portion of the Farming guide will explain which troops to use for a farming attack and additionally, which troops to request from your clan while farming.
Having the right troops to attack with is the one of the most important parts of farming. Again, this is only a guide and is not a definitive setup. You may want to try a few different troop setups to see what works best for you. Keep note of how much elixer you are using to build your troops. This will be important later on.
First off, you don't want to try farming while using expensive troops like dragons or pekkas. You will want to use inexpensive troops, primarily Goblins. Now you don't want to run in with all goblins as they aren't effective with breaking walls and are weak to mortars and wizard towers.
What I recommend and use is, 4 Giants to distract the defenses, 4 wall breakers to bust out the walls (obviously), a few barbarians to take down or distract any defenses, and finally the goblins. You can alter the type or amount of each troop to whatever works better for you.
Since you goal here is to only grab the resources and not trophies, try not to take down too much of the base other then the collectors and storages. If you got the resources, end the attack by surrendering. If you do end up taking out the town hall of 50% of the base, no big deal, just try not to get the 100% victory as you don't want to move up too far in trophies.
